A prayer inspired by the woman at the well
Lord Jesus, thank You for teaching me the rhythms of the day. I treasure midday because it’s a chance to take a break from my work. Often it’s a chance to enjoy fellowship with friends and a great meal. Sometimes, I close my eyes and take a nap.
I am grateful for breaks in the day.
These moments help me stay in touch with You.

At other times, I get too busy and focused on other things. I miss midday. Before I know it, the evening has come and I am exhausted. I missed the rhythm of the day You set in motion for me.
Help me do better with my day.
Help me embrace midday, even for a few minutes.
To worship You.
To remember all You have created.
To thank You for Your love.

The day is sacred because You have created it. Help me appreciate it fully, and not just rush through.
I want to be aware of Your presence throughout my day, so when the evening comes, I will know I have spent my day with You. I will have Your joy and peace at day’s end.
I pray in Your name, Jesus. Amen
