A Prayer in Autumn

Lord, thank You for the beauty of autumn. It’s like You took a paintbrush to the landscape. Everything is so vibrant and colorful. Your artistry is beautiful beyond description.

In autumn, we are reminded of Your provision. To watch the squirrels gather plentiful acorns reminds us of how much You provide for our needs.

Autumn is a season of transition, when old things crumble away and new life begins at the roots. What a great reminder of the healing and transforming work You desire to do in each of us—all year round. Help us be open to the healing You desire to bring.

Thank You for the signs of harvest we see in autumn. We are reminded that Your goodness is bountiful beyond measure, and we are so thankful.

We are also reminded that “the fields … are ripe for harvest” (John 4:35 NIV). Help us to share Your amazing love everywhere we go, and to always point the way to You through our words, actions, heart, mind, and prayers.

In Jesus’ name. Amen
