The Thanksgiving holiday can bring up a mix of emotions. Holidays often have strong memories associated with them—some good, some not so good. Depending on our current season of life, we might enjoy gathering with others, or we might prefer quiet.
Regardless of how we feel about the holiday this year, one thing remains true, pure, and steadfast: God’s abundant love for us. If we put Him first this holiday, all the rest will fall into place.

Pray for God to help you feel His presence today.
Take time throughout the day to check in with Him. Let Him know how you’re feeling. Ask for His peace.
Be mindful of Him as you observe whatever is around you. Ask Him to help you see everything through His eyes.
Let God know you are thankful for Him.
At the end of the day, take some time just to sit with Him and be with Him. No words are needed. Just presence.
These are practices we can use not just today, but every day. Make God the focus of your day. Enjoy your day with Him.
