A Prayer in Winter

Lord, thank You for the beauty and peace of Your presence in winter.

As I wake up to short, cold days and bare limbs on trees, help me remember You are always here. Help me to see Your creative blessings in the winter landscape. Remind me of Your constant presence.

When I feel cold, I remember You are my source of warmth.

When the atmosphere looks bleak, I remember Your presence is always inviting and welcoming.

When I see trees without signs of life, I remember You are busy growing new life at the roots.

When the winter storms chills me, I remember how the gentle breeze of Your Holy Spirit brings joy and life.

When I feel darkness closing in too early in the day, I remember Your light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome Your light.

When I long for spring, I am reminded that Your presence is here and now, and I can find my peace in You in this and every moment.

When I feel the cold, hard days drag on, I remember my hope that spring will come, and I remember my hope in You because Your love is forever.

Thank You for winter, Lord. Help me admire Your beauty in the winter landscape and embrace Your presence all winter long.

In Jesus’ name. Amen
