Jesus Is Sitting

In a Place Where He Will Meet Someone

A prayer inspired by the woman at the well

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to meet me. You don’t hide from me or avoid me. You make Yourself known to me, and You have come to live among us.

You want to live in my heart if I will just invite You—even in those dark, messy corners of my heart where I may be afraid to let You in. You are willing to meet me in the messiest parts of my life.

Help me open my heart fully to You. I welcome You! Come into every corner of my heart. Show me what I need to let go of, things that block me from You. Change my heart from the inside out, so I can be more like You.

Even as You are working on changing my heart, lead me to places where I can share Your love with others. Help me to expect those opportunities. I want to be fully present in those places where You have arranged a divine encounter with another person. I don’t want to miss it. Help me always to follow Your lead.

I pray in Your name, Jesus. Amen
